When it rains in Tanzania!

Most of the time when it rains..., many people take it as a blessing.
In Dar es Salaam, due to scarcity of clean tap water... at the time of downpour, many people collect water for domestic use and save water bills.
In another side.... due to poor road and wasterwater systems, when it rains, roads becomes the drainage channels Pedestrians are not spared.
In some places, when it rains, it creates temporary jobs.... new business starts.... carrying people across the water bodies for a pay averaging 20 cents of USD. Sometimes more depending on the area and how wealthy you are!! They look the way you have dressed and of course your body weight.
In rural......., it is a blessing for crops.....
But when come for transport network, it is a worst time for travelling in some areas
I came across this photos in Mitiki blog
Songea - Southern Tanzania

Manyara

Rukwa - Western Tanzania
Tanga - Northern Tanzania
Ni lini Serikali yetu itafungua macho na kurekebisha hali hii. Matumizi ya kodi kwenye mafuta, mazao, leseni za biashara nk kwa nini zisielekezwe kwenye maeneo husika kuboresha hali hii?

when it rains or the sun shines bitterly, rain is a curse in tanzania. we suffer its absence and its presence. during drought we the uswahilinites share the most precious commodity called umeme, allegedly for fallen levels of water in the HEP dams. the uzunguni dwellers only read power rationing in newspapers. come rains, it's the same. one ponders how come while the heaven's floodgates are widely open?

if i may borrow a leaf from sheikh yahaya hussein (who has 'banned' other tanzanians from challenging the incumbent Jk, saying anyone daring to do so is gonna die instantly) next season, dar's streets will be overflowing with rainwaters, sumbawanga roads will be impassable and many people are going to die due to floods like this year in morogoro and dodoma.

My deepest respect upon taking the challenge to make a living each and every day during such a rain.
Having rain in mind today as well, wonder how nice it would be if it would rain blossoms just for a moment.
Please have a wonderful Wednesday.
