Passengers, over the weekend, cashed in on RwandAir’s new promotional fares as charges for the Kigali-Entebbe were slashed to US$100 and US$200 for the economy and business class, respectively.
Usually, fares on the same route range between US$320 and US$450, depending on departure time.
John Mirenge, the national carrier’s CEO, on Sunday said feed-back from their customers ‘has been great.”
“It is part of our scheme to make flying affordable to people in the region, to make sure that more people are attracted to flying other than the usual road transport,” Mirenge said.
“They [passengers] are really excited about it! Feed-back is great. Time and again, we do it. We want more people to fly.”
RwandAir’s new promotional fares are also in celebration of the inaugural flight of the new Boeing 737-800NG.
On last Saturday, fares for the Kigali-Johannesburg were pegged at US$200 and US$400, for the economy and business classes, respectively.
On monday, passengers on the Kigali-Kilimanjaro/Dar es Salaam route cashed US$180 and US$320, for the economy and business classes, respectively.
Yesterday, Tuesday, the Kigali - Libreville/Brazzaville route cost US$$200 and US$500, for the economy and business classes, respectively, while the Libreville-Brazzaville will be set at US$$250 and US$$350.
Next Saturday, for the popular Kigali-Nairobi route, passengers will pay US$ 150, and USD 300 for Business class.
