Swine Flu in Rwanda

Rwanda has been hit by swine flu for the first time.

It was at the end of last week when the first case of swine flu was diagnosed at Kigali when the two children of a state minister was found to be positive, later the minister was tested positive too, however the spouse to minister was negative.

This follows a short illness of high fever and flu, apparently the minister has a mild flu. Some few days ago, the minister was on the trip to USA with two children, and on arrival back they all suffer from flu, but one child was a little bit more ill and necessitate admission.

So far, 3 doctors who attended the child of minister and another student at the hospital where the child was admitted have suffered mild flu and have been quarantined. One patient who was admitted at the hospital (a child of minister), has been discharged under quarantined, and the condition of child was described as good.

Total of 12 cases has been reported so far including a child from the same school where the minister’s children studies. The school has been ordered to be closed for one week.

All cases are mild and no death has been reported.
Rwandan Minister for Health is working hard on the issue and has given an assurance that all precautious measures have been taken and people should not worry.

Karibu dada Subi, nashukuru kwa pongezi.

Faustine, do you think this virus is as deadly in Africa as in other continents? Because, so far it has claimed less fatal results in this side of the world!

Unaweza kutumia pia Alcohol-based hands cleaners.

Naomba kuwasilisha.
