I Got It Right! Ghana are in Quarter Final

Yesterday I predicted that Ghana fans and African fans in general will enjoy this weekend by seeing Ghana seeding a place to quarter final of FIFA 2010 World cup in South Africa.

Indeed they managed to cross over by beating USA 2 - 1, but it was not an easy task, as Americans as opponents were too strong to be beaten. Probably Americans should blame themselves by taking longer time to study Ghana's game and ended by finding themselves behind by a goal scored just in 5 minutes by Prince Boateng. The secong goal was scored early on extra time by Asamoah Gyan.

Both goals from Ghanaian side were fantastic.

The next game, Ghana will face Uruguay, that match will be tough, but I am optimistic to see a new record where for the first time African team will qualify for Semi-final.

Cheers Black Stars. Many fans are cheering you especially from Africa.

Italy Stormed Out of World Cup 2010 Competitions

Bad day for Giants reigning world champions, the Italian team, as they are wiped out of world cup 2010 tournament. They were knocked out by Slovakia by 3 -2 goals.

They got out of competition with 2 points only. Good memmories they had 4 years ago had just faded like a thin smoke in air.

This 2010 world cup had come with many surprises. Many Giant teams had really struggled to qualify for the next stage, African teams have done badly, and South American teams have shined out.

Italy has to be restructured and get ready for 2014 world cup in Brazil. With the current team they will not reach far.

Who is to be blamed......... Jabulani ball! or ....

Italians fans are very much disappointed (including their African fans)

Nakutakia jumatatu njema

Somalia: Watching World cup means Death Penalty!

Watching 2010 FIFA world cup in Somalia means you are liable to death penalty!

Last saturday in Mogadishu, 2 people were killed while watching world cup. They were stormed by militants people and gunned down.

It is said extremist groups they think world cup will pre-occupy people's minds and they will fail to assist radical groups to overthrow the goverment, which after all is weak government.

American Lawyer Denied Bail in Rwanda

Prof.Peter Erlinder (in pink prisoner dress) who was arrested in Kigali, Rwanda and charged for genocidal denial through his speeches and publications, has been denied bail out as he requested to be considered in huanitarian grounds, where he is intending to travel to USA for appropriate treatment to his ill/risky healthy conditions as he brought papers showing that he was diagnosed to have brain, skin and heart problems which may turn into cancer.
Read more information in English here

Jabulani Ball: Will Be Remembered in World Cup

Today is the third day of the FIFA 2010 World Cup.

Up to this time, we have witnessed 7 fixtures producing 3 ties and 4 wins.

England will not forget the moment when the jabulani ball slipped off the hand of goalie Green and help USA to equalise.
Other teams that will not forget the jabulani includes Algeria when one of Algeria player was sent off after turning the jabulani into handball rather than football game. Eventually Algeria was overpowered and lost the game to Slovenia.

Serbia also suffered a defeat by Ghana through a penaly kick following a hand jabulani by a serbian player.

We expect much surprises in this year FIFA/Coca Cola World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

Rwanda Kuanza kutumia Bangi katika Matibabu. (Rwanda to Use Marijuana for Treatment Purposes)

The Rwanda Ministry of Health has forwarded a bill to parliament that seeks to legalize the use of marijuana and other narcotics to be used strictly for medical purposes.

The minister, Dr. Richard Sezibera promised MPs that: “The medicine will thus be available and correctly utilised" as pain relievers, especially in treating the problems related to the behavioural problems.
Members of Parliament unanimously endorsed the bill without any objection

Tanzania: Ranked High Among Peaceful Countries in Africa

Tanzania, the Mwalimu Nyerere's motherland has been ranked 8th most peaceful country in Africa by Global Peace Index (GPI) released yesterday 8th June 2010. Botswana, Tunisia and Mozambique are the top for African countries.

The GPI designers define peace as the absence of violence, with the survey looking at several qualitative and quantitative indicators of external and internal measures to maintain peace.
These include a country’s crime rates, political instability, and level of organised crime besides external measures like a country’s relations with its neighbours.

The new ranks has New Zealand as the most peaceful country in the world, while Iceland and Japan holds 2nd and 3rd places.

On the bottom there is Afghanistan which is trailed by Somalia and Iraq. Somalia is the worst peaceful country in Africa while Iraq is the worst overall in the world.

RwandAir Roars

Photo and Source: New times

Rwandair, a company which was established in 2002 is striving hard to achieve great successes in air transport industry.

Recently had acquire a new Boeing 737-500 which has a capacity of taking 110 on board including crews.

They expect to get another similar aircraft by August this year. And yet... they have secured a loan which will enable them to buy 2 more Boeing 737-800 series towards the end of next year.

They want to compete on the west Africa market which now is dominated by Kenya airways and Ethiopian airlines. Also they are planning to establish daily flights to Johanesburg.

It should be remembered that late last year, RwandAir, acquired its first fleet of two CRJ200s aircrafts, By which they manage to establish direct flights from Kigali to Dar-es Salaam which has better services if you compare with many aged airliners in the region.

Congrats RwandAir express.

Mixed Weekend for Tanzania Football Teams

Taifa Stars (Tanzania) with blue jersey, they lost 1 - 0 to Amavubi stars (Rwanda) on the final game for CHAN finals qualifications.
Taifa stars outshined Rwanda, however they bowed to Rwanda through surprise shot in the first half which secure Rwanda place in CHAN finals. This goal left Tanzanian's goalie puzzled.

It was painful moment when the final whistle blown.
Tanzania is expecting to play Brazil on 7th June 2010 at Dar es Salaam, just a day after this match with Rwanda.

On the other side, this weekend has been good for the Tanzanian women national football team (Twiga Stars) when they secure their place for African Football championship finals which will be done shortly after the world cup in South Africa. They won by aggregate of 11 - 4.

Also within this weekend, The Copa Coca-Cola cup, Tanzania's under 17's team won 11- 0 against Malawi.

We wish all the best for Tanzanian Football team to beat Brazil in less than 24 hours from now.

Kudhibiti Uhalifu: Tanzania Yapaswa Kujifunza Kutoka Kwa Rwanda

Nina hakika hili linawezekana

Just at Your Glance

Part of spectrum of the vitreo-retinal surgeons (Members of Europen Vitreo-retinal surgeons Society) from all over the world when they met sometimes last year for refreshing course in Germany.

A lot of innovations were just at the finger tips of colleagues.

South Africa was lucky, to have 5 out of 7 Africans who participated in this refreshing course in the field of Ophthalmology. Tanzania and Zimbabwe were the other two countries represented.

Sounds difficult terminologies, this shows how complex this field is......

I always smile, no matter ......
